Pods are revealed 2-4 weeks before your trip departure. This gives you time to connect with your pod members through our app, join video calls, and start building relationships before you meet in person.

We offer a 72-hour 'vibe check' period after pod reveal. During this time, you can request a pod reassignment or a full refund, no questions asked. Your comfort and safety are our priority.

Yes! If you're booking with friends, you can request to be in the same pod. Just add them as 'travel companions' during booking. We'll place you together and match you with additional compatible travelers to fill the pod.

Research shows that groups of 6-8 people are optimal for both meaningful connection and logistical flexibility. Large enough for varied perspectives and conversation, small enough that everyone feels included.

The deposit is 25% of the total trip cost. This secures your spot and starts the matching process. The remaining 75% is due 30 days before departure.

Free cancellation up to 60 days before departure (full refund minus processing fee). 60-30 days: 50% refund. Under 30 days: no refund, but you can transfer your booking to another traveler. We strongly recommend travel insurance.

Yes! For trips over $2,500, you can split your payment into monthly installments using Affirm or Klarna at checkout. These are 0% interest if paid within the promotional period.

Flights are not included in our trip prices. This gives you flexibility to use points/miles, choose your preferred airline, and depart from your home city. We provide recommended flights and group timing suggestions.

Travel insurance is not included but strongly recommended. We've partnered with World Nomads to offer discounted coverage. You can add it during the booking process.

We balance structure with free time. Typically, mornings have planned activities, afternoons offer optional excursions or free exploration, and evenings include pod dinners or group experiences. You'll never feel like you're on a rigid schedule.

Absolutely respected! Not every activity is mandatory. Our itineraries include 'Free Time' blocks specifically for solo exploration, relaxation, or just recharging. Your pod will understand—we match people who respect boundaries.

Pod activities (cooking classes, intimate dinners, small excursions) are just your 6-8 pod members. Tour activities (city tours, welcome dinners, major excursions) include all pods. This gives you both deep bonding and broader social opportunities.

Yes! Every trip has at least one dedicated Koursair trip leader plus local guides for specific activities. They handle logistics, provide context, and are available for any needs—but they don't hover. Think of them as a helpful friend who knows the area.

We offer multiple verification levels: email verification (basic), social account linking (Google/Facebook), government ID verification, and video verification. Higher verification levels increase your 'trust score' and visibility to other travelers.

Our app has a one-tap emergency button connecting you to: your trip leader, Koursair 24/7 support, local emergency services, and your country's embassy. We also have partnerships with local security services in all destinations.

We have zero tolerance for harassment, discrimination, or unsafe behavior. Any reported incidents are investigated immediately. Offenders are removed from trips and permanently banned. All travelers agree to our Code of Conduct during booking.

Yes. We only operate in destinations we've personally vetted for traveler safety. We monitor travel advisories, have local partners, and adjust itineraries if conditions change. Your safety is non-negotiable.

Once your pod is revealed, you'll have access to: pod group chat, video introduction prompts, optional virtual meet & greet video calls, shared itinerary view, and elective activity voting. Most pods have multiple video calls before meeting in person!

Our mobile app includes: live itinerary with notifications, pod and tour-wide chat, AI concierge for recommendations and translations, shared photo stream, expense tracker with settlement, location sharing (optional), and emergency support.

Absolutely! Your pod chat stays active forever. We also create an AI-generated trip recap video, downloadable photo album, and enable one-click 'travel with this pod again' to plan future trips together. Many pods become lifelong friend groups!

Badges are achievements you earn through Koursair: trips completed, countries visited, activities tried, connections made. They appear on your profile and add gamification to your travel journey. Some travelers collect them all!
